Sony Ericsson T310 Review
The Sony Ericsson T310 was originally released to be an upgrade for the T300. While much of the phone has remained internally the same, the external design of the phone has been given a nice upgrade—involving a dual color cover and an easier-to-use keypad—making it a highly attractive entry-level phone.
Having said this, it is necessary to point out some of the faults. The display on the T310 only has 256 colors—compare that with the K750i’s 262,000—and the attachable digital camera has many problems that make it seem very low end when compared to more recent technological advances in cellular phone technology.
That the camera is not integrated into the device seems very old fashioned today, and the low quality and pixel level match this feeling. The camera takes very murky pictures; if the light is not bright the pictures can be too dark to make out.
With only 1.1MB of memory, and only 340K actually available, photo storage is not really an option. Make sure that you empty your inbox and do not have too many games or polyphonic ringtones before taking a pic, or else the T300 may not have room for it.
The T300 is still a good mobile for making and receiving calls, texting, and accessing your E-mail. The 5-way joystick (up, right, down, left, press in) is effective at manipulating the menu, and the keypad has been improved over the T300, making it much easier to us.
The biggest reason to get this phone over the T300 is not the sleek design, but the inclusion of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 in the phone’s games. Gameplay is fun, and for Tony Hawk fans out there this is an inexpensive way to take your gameplay with you when you leave the house.
This is a very basic phone and should only be bought if the lack of features does not put you off. The camera is not really a bonus, as it is very difficult to get satisfactory pictures out of it. If you want a mobile to make calls and texts, and to occasionally check your E-mail, or if you are a big Tony Hawk Pro Skater fan, then this is the phone for you, otherwise you may want to take a look at something with a few more extras.
