Sony Ericsson K700i Review

With a plain silver casing and a slim, light-weight design, the Sony Ericsson K700i has almost all of the features and extras that you can expect from this near top of the line phone. In fact, besides the newly released K750i, this phone stands at the top of its class.

This phone contains both picture taking and video grabbing capabilities, allowing the user to access these features with a simple button click. The camera has .3 megapixel quality, with a 4X digital zoom—not the top of the line to be sure, but good for the price—and the large format display screen allows you to view your pics with great clarity, allowing deleting decisions to take place on the spot.

And once you have decided which photos and videos to keep, you can send them to your friends using a variety of different technologies, including E-mail, Bluetooth, and SMS. The display screen is a rather formidable 176 X 220 mm., and it supports 65,536 colors using TFT technologies that allow the image to be colorful, bright, and vibrant—even in direct sunlight.

For gamers, this phone supports both 3-D and 2-D games, and with its high quality sound system, this phone is ideal for both the gaming junkie, as well as the more casual player.

When it comes to ringtones, this phone bring the options with over 40 voice-polyphonic tones, the old standard monotones, and the ability to compose your own polyphonic tones on this mobile’s music editor. The options here are almost endless.

The K700i has a formidable 40 MB of memory, making it a vast step up from the K300i and K500i models, both with 12 MB. With 40 MB you should be able to house all the pictures, games, and music that you can get your hands on, making this an ideal phone for housing many different types of media.

If music is your bag, the K700i offers both an FM radio, and an MP3 player, making those morning and afternoon commutes just that much easier. And while I don't expect we'll be hearing too many stories about parties DJ-ed with a K700i, it certainly is a possibility.

All in all this is a good phone for the media hound in all of us, and with its excellent game play, video and photo grabbing, vibrant screen, and high memory, this phone out-classes both the K300i, and the K500i—a good value mobile, if it’s in your price range.
