Although this phone is supposedly marketed for women—the pink and blue color scheme attest to that—it would really do just about anyone good to own it. With high level features and a high level of usability, it’s a shame that most men might be put off by the idea of this as a “girl’s phone.” But this just means more power to the ladies, as this is a well made phone with an easy-to-use design.

The features are just what most people are looking for in a mobile phone today. The digital camera has a 1.3 Megapixel resolution, doing away with murky, abstract photos in favor of highly visible, well-defined shots. With an integrated flash, your nighttime pictures will come out better than ever.

The video feature runs on a diminished resolution, but is still better than that on some recent models. Viewing the pictures and videos is a pleasure on the 176 X 220 pixel internal screen. This display boasts over 262K colors, with TFT technology to keep them looking bright, even in direct sunlight.

Close the phone and there’s another display. This one 80 X 64 pixels and 65K colors. Not bad for a simple external display. The phone’s design is not quite like other phones, as it does not make a streamlined curve near its base. The Samsung designers may have been going for more of an hourglass shape. No matter what their intention, the design is quite pleasing.

The alphanumeric and 4-way directional keypads are more separated than most flips, but they are also easier to use, with added topographical distances enabling rapid-fire texting. This is also great for gameplay, and the E530 comes with several embedded games.

One of the best parts of this mobile is the MP3 player, and with over 90 MB of internal memory, you can actually keep some songs on this phone. MP3s can also be used as ringtones, joining the 64-voice polyphonic tones that the phone can support.

The phone features some “lifestyle features”, such as calories counter, fragrance, and Pink Schedule. If you are not a huge fan of Legally Blonde and its sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red White and Blonde, you may not be extremely interested in this particular aspect of the phone.
