Nokia 7280 Review

Nokia 9500

Part of Nokia’s Fashion Collection, the Nokia 7280 lives up to this distinction with a super-slim, unique, sliding design. The phone can fit into the narrowest of pockets, and is small enough to be discrete and unobtrusive, but flashy enough to really catch some attention when you use it. At a slim 84g, it’s one of the lightest phones in the Fashion Collection, but its light weight doesn’t mean it’s a lightweight: in fact, the Nokia 7280 is packed full of the exciting features users are looking for.

One feature that some may notice looking at the photograph of the Nokia 7280 is that you can’t see a keypad. The reason for this is that this phone operates using a dial, leaving the keypad behind and allowing for a very sleek design. This phone’s design combines some of the benefits of both a flip-phone and a “soap bar” phone. The end result is a simple, easy-to-use slide design.

The Nokia 7280’s slide design allows users to quickly answer or end calls. And taking pictures is just as simple. Slide open the top of the phone to reveal a red strip that accentuates this stylish phone’s classic, wraparound black and white swirl design. Inside that red strip is the phone’s camera lens. When you’re done taking pictures, simply slide the cover closed, protecting the lens.

Nokia has made sure to include lots of storage space—so you’ll have plenty of room for photos of your next big night out. 50 MB total memory also leaves space for Java™ applications and games, and with multi-lingual support and access to several mobile networks around the globe, this phone can follow you to wherever the fun is.

This phone does, however, lack an MP3 player and GPS, but especially notable is the lack of an e-mail function. Users will be happy to know that on the plus side, Nokia has included some features to compensate for these shortcomings. The Nokia 7280 comes with an FM radio, Internet access, and in addition to infrared and Nokia cable connectivity, this phone is Bluetooth compliant, making PC interface quick and simple. A stylish phone that’s loaded with features, the Nokia 7280 is sure to be a hit with the in-crowd.
