The Nokia 7210 is Nokia's first attempt of a colour display phone and it is combined with polyphonic ring tones, FM radio, triple band and Java capabilities.
The Nokia 7210 has a daring, adventurous look with a sleek but rather plasticy exterior. It combines angles and curves to create a somewhat stylish and futuristic look and is available in three colours, with changeable x-press on covers. The biggest drawback of the design however has to be the inconsistent and strange layout of the keys, they are narrow and awkwardly arranged making it difficult to use.
This phone uses a 4096-colour passive matrix display, which unfortunately looks dull when, compared to other phones and the seven-line display also appears quite dark in sunlight.
The Nokia 7210 comes with a multimedia messaging service and supports wireless java. It's menu has lively graphics and customisable colour themes, it offers a nifty unit converter and two games.
The built-in FM receiver delivers an excellent clear stereo sound when using the Pop-port interface however the connection between the handset and the headset is easily dislodged.
The Nokia 7210 is one of Nokia's first phones to offer triple band technology. The 21 preset melodies are loud and can become quite annoying and the polyphonic capabilities can best be described as functional.
The Nokia 7210 is a slim-line, light phone; it has a respectable battery life and an average reception with no signal strength problems and no voice quality issues.
With its bold looks and strong feature set, there is much to like about the 7210 it's only a pity about the keypad.
