Nokia 6585 Review

Nokia 9500

The Nokia 6585 is similar in looks to the 6610 but has even more impressive features. It is a cool yet professional phone that will appeal to the younger market and business users alike; its colour LCD screen complements the stylish silver handset perfectly.

The phone’s internal antenna is responsible for the excellent voice clarity, and it boasts a talk time of 2.4 hours and a standby time of ten days. One of the best features about this phone is the internal wireless modem and WAP 2.0 web browser, making it capable of high-speed data transfers and quick access to the wireless internet.

The Nokia 6585 has some exciting features including 30 polyphonic ringtones, four JavaTM games to choose from, Water Rapids, Bounce, Triplepop & Beach Rally and an FM radio. Using Nokia 6585 PC Suite 2 it is possible to create even more graphics and ringtones as the phone’s memory can store 10 customised ringtones.

The phonebook has the capacity to hold 500 contacts, with extras such as the option to store multiple numbers for each entry, also up to 25 voice tags and the ability to personalise caller IDs. Another extra feature are also the 10 voice commands that can be programmed for menu items, and there is even up to 3 minutes of memory for voice memos.

The Nokia 6585 boasts excellent reception, the handset is loud enough to be heard in crowds and the speakerphone has excellent clarity.

The Nokia 6585 has all the usual features that can be expected from the Nokia range, such as alarm, calculator, pre-set ringtones, count-down timer and text templates. It also has extra options, including 8 different colour schemes to personalise the phone, two-way text messaging and a GPS service, although this does run down the battery life if left on. PC synchronisation is also possible through the USB or infrared port.

This phone is a great all-rounder; it has visual appeal and is packed with extra options and games to pass the time on long journeys and lunch breaks.
