Nokia 6220 Review

The Nokia 6220 is the most advanced business phone around today. This stylish phone is richly featured to meet the demands of the mobile professional who needs on the go functionality.

The 6220 is a lightweight phone with sleek looks and features a unique keypad, which has been designed to make messaging faster and easier. Its colour display offers excellent image clarity and easily beats the competition.

The Nokia 6220 has the distinction of being the worlds first EDGE phone. It utilizes Enhanced Data for GSM Evolution (Edge) technology, which offers up to 118.4Kbps data speed. These data transfer rates are truly wonderful and almost double that offered by GPRS phones.

Another excellent new feature on the 6220 is presence-enhanced contacts will let users share their availability, intentions and whereabouts with others. This function also allows you to exchange instant text messages.

The new wallet application in the Nokia 6220 provides secure service access and mobile payment via WAP.

Other connectivity features include Java and MMS. The 6220 has an inbuilt video player, triband capability, an onboard digital camera, an FM radio, handsfree speaker, WAP 2.0 over GPRS/EDGE, XHTML browser, Email, polyphonic tones, and plenty of voice features.

The battery life, reception and sound quality are excellent.

On the downside, however, many operators do not currently support Edge technology. The integrated video player doesn't record video.

The Nokia 6220 ventures further than most phones have dared and strikes the heart in the right place. It deserves to be a winner.
