The Nokia 3650 imaging phone is utterly unlike any other phone. It has a rather funky design, unique circular keypad and surprising features.
Nokia have completely rearranged the keypad on the 3650 and nothing is where you'd expect it so plenty of retraining of those fingertips is required. They have also totally rejected the current shrinking trend for phones as the 3650 weighs in at a hefty 130g and measures 129.5mm long.
The size of the phone however does come with its benefits; its huge screen is excellent for showcasing its main feature. The 3650 has a built-in camera and video capture capabilities. The 4096 colour passive display is bright and sharp, the quality of the still images is generally good and the videos captured by the phone although only last 15 seconds and don't have any audio are fairly decent.
The Nokia 3650 comes with an inbuilt 4MB memory and a 16MB Multimedia Card (MMC) which is useful for storage as the still images take up 40kb the video clips occupies 90kb and the phones offers several Java games and applications which quickly use up memory.
Other features include crisp polyphonic ringtones, Bluetooth, an embedded RealOne player, an integrated speakerphone and triple band capabilities. The only thing missing on the Nokia 3650 is a built-in FM receiver, which would have been nice.
Reception on the 3650 is good, voice quality is average but the battery life is somewhat disappointing.
The Nokia 3650 is an excellent feature packed, video capable phone and despite being a bit on the heavy side with a slightly annoying keypad it gets the vote.
