While not the most original shape, the 3595 still manages to look appealing due to the choice of eight different colour schemes of active Xpress-on covers and the ability to customise your own wallpaper and screen savers. At around eleven and a half centimetres in length, the 3595 isn’t the smallest phone on the market, but it’s certainly crammed full of features. With large 4096 colour screen, SMS and e-mail messaging, voice dialling (up to fourteen numbers), picture messaging, colour WAP browser, animated screen saver, polyphonic ring tones and Java. The Java facility allows you to down load the latest games for when you finally get bored of Backgammon, Sky Diver, Air Glide and bowling which come pre-loaded. The phone is nice and easy to use as it takes advantage of the usual Nokia menu system, so everything is grouped together and as such, is easily accessible. The new lay out of the keypad is a little annoying at first but you soon get used to it and once you’ve adapted it’s just as easy to use and looks quite stylish. The screen is bright and easy to see which makes a change from a lot of modern phones that boast a colour screen that you can hardly see unless you’re out of direct light.
The 3595 comes across as a phone for the modern person on the move. With five hundred contacts (three numbers each), a calendar with five hundred entries and a to do list with thirty entries, as well as the standard alarm clock, this phone can help ensure you’re not missing out on anything. This is enhanced by the fact that you can synchronise your calendar, to do list and phonebook with your P.C (using SynchML over WAP) making the 3595 almost as much a life tool as a mobile phone.
The reception on the 3595 is strong and the voice quality is of a more than
reasonable standard. It’s worth mentioning at this point that the battery
life for this phone is very impressive. It’s rated for five and a half
hours talk time and ten days standby time, even out of the optimal conditions
of the lab, you’re still looking at a lot of battery power for a phone
of this type. Like most Nokias the 3595 is well built and dependable and as
such doesn’t feel like it’s going to come apart in your hands. You
may find it lasts for longer than you need it for which is a Nokia tradition..
This is a great phone that won’t make too much of a dent in your finances.
It’s a good mix of style and functionality, solid and reliable, easy to
use yet still funky enough to be fun. If you’re after a good all round
phone and don’t need a camera built in or Bluetooth then the 3595 could
be what you’re looking for.
