The Nokia 3586i is a very hip and sporty phone in style. Nokia have certainly aimed at the twenty something market with this model. The 3586i is incredibly similar to the Nokia 3595 with the exception of the new funky keypad. This phone is easy to customise to your taste however, as there is a range of changeable Xpress-onTM front and back covers available. The backlight on this model is also refreshingly white. The keys on this model are small but usable and it has the added feature of four way scrolling. The main interesting feature of this phone however is that it has a voice memo facility with one minute of recording time which certainly does come in handy.
Another difference between the Nokia 3586i and 3595 is the addition of a colour screen. However, even though Nokia state it is high resolution the pixels still seem a little fuzzy. This model has a standard 4096 colours however; the three games supplied with the 3586i certainly make use of this colour range. The games supplied with this model are different from the standard Nokia choice. These are an interesting mix of bowling, racket and sky diver. This phone also has a built in browser, organiser and calculator.
With the Nokia 3586i measuring an average 117mm x 49mm x 24mm it is surprisingly light weighing just 116.5 grams. Making this model easy to slip into your shirt pocket or handbag. The battery is standard with upto 2.5 hours talk time and upto 6 days standby. This phone also has the ability to voice dial and has voice commands for 8 menu items.
The polyphonic ringtones on the 3586i are incredibly loud and use four chords with the option to download more customised tones. You can also customise this handset with picture id and connect it to your computer through USB. The Nokia 3586i also has an inbuilt selection of wallpapers. Not only this but you can also customise the graphics and ringtones of this model by using Nokia 3586i PC Suite which is available free on the nokia website once you have bought the data cable.
Unfortunately however, the screen saver seems unchangeable and therefore simply displays the digital clock which is not to everyone’s taste. The Nokia 3586i is also missing those extra features like Bluetooth and a camera. However, this is a simple stylish and affordable phone with an easy to use menu and therefore perfect for a new user and those on a budget.
