This brightly coloured funky phone is definitely aimed at the youth market. It's similar in design to the 3510 with a few extra updates and added features.
It features downloadable ringtones, Xpress on covers, polyphonic ringtones, Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) and GPRS just like its predecessor.
The X-press-on covers and interchangeable with the 3510 and Nokia offer some excellent specialised functional covers, such as the gaming covers. These covers enhance the gaming experience so you can really enjoy the 5 built-in games, which make good use of the phone's polyphonic sound and vibration effects.
However the volume of the polyphonic ringing tones on the Nokia 3510i are similar to 3510 which is not necessarily a good thing as they are not heard everywhere and the vibrating alert is only average on the 3510.
In addition to the many features on the 3510, the 3510i offers a full colour screen and Java capabilities.
Its screen has a resolution of 96x65 pixels and can support up to 4096 colours. Information on the screen is quite visible in sunlight but colours appear less vivid with sun light influence. A colour screen increases the energy consumption and Nokia have catered for this by adding a screen saver to the 3510i, which looks like an analogue clock. The keys respond well to commands despite the colour screen.
The 3510i's Java capability means that you can download games just as easily as downloading ringtones or graphics. As well as Java games, you can also download applications like personal assistants, travel and information tools.
The Nokia 3510i is a very practical, easy to use phone and as it's not much more expensive than the 3510 is certainly gets the vote.
