Nokia 3100 Review

The Nokia 3100 is a very fun lively and vibrant phone. Nokia certainly haven’t gone for sophistication with the 3100, however, they have reversed the current trend of larger phones. Jam-packed with features it is surprisingly slimline, weighing a mere 85 grams. The main feature of this phone is that it glows in the dark making it easy to find in your handbag or a darkened room. In fact, it is powerful enough to use as a torch.

The Nokia 3100 flashes in tune with your ring tone and, with the xpress gaming cover, also in tune with your game play. In line with the 3100 fun theme it offers Java gaming and with its GPRS capability it also gives you the option to download more. Although the screen is small compared to others, the display is crisp and clear supporting over 4,096 colours. Surfing is made easier with the addition of a xhtml browser. Nokia have also placed an icon display system on the 3100 making features both easier and more accessible.

A downside of this phone is that it doesn’t have a built in camera, however it is compatible with the Nokia Fun Camera, which will take photos that can be viewed on the handset. Unfortunately this phone doesn’t have BlueTooth or infared. However, it does have a speakerphone capability that is clear and allows conference calling for up to five participants. The rubber, backlit keypad buttons are small but more manageable than some of Nokia's previous handsets.

The Nokia 3100 can store up to 356 contacts with phone and sim memory combined and allows you to add extra information such as e-mail, Web, and street addresses. Although the Nokia 3100 comes with numerous monophonic tones as standard and also supports polyphonic ringtones.

In comparison to other phones currently on the market and previous Nokia models the Nokia 3100 has a very impressive battery life. You can talk for up to six hours and it boasts to have a huge 17-day standby capability. This is not only very impressive but certainly a key feature of this model.

What the 3100 lacks for in style and sophistication it certainly makes up for in fun. The Nokia 3100 is certainly aimed at the younger market with its look, games and gimmicks. With its triband capability it certainly makes it the perfect phone to take on a lively holiday.
