Motorola V635 Review

Motorola V80

Building on their extremely popular V600 series, the V635 adds a whole lot of what you were looking for. With a sleek look and a return back to the silver and black color scheme, the V635 does not look like an enormous change, but in terms of quality and amount of features, it certainly is.

The new digital camera in the V635 is almost 1.3 Megapixels, truly blowing the V620 and V600 out of the water. With an 8X digital zoom, rather than 4X, you can now crop your photos even smaller, although the resolution won’t get any better until they start putting optical zooms on mobile phones.

The V635 boasts 60 seconds of video recording, up from 15 in the V620, and video playback of the adventures you capture, and Mpeg4’s that you can stream online using the V635’s WAP 2.0 technology.

With 65,536 colors using TFT technology, the refresh rate on this phone is super fast and it always appears vibrant and colorful. There is also an external display, which only has 4,096 colors and washes out in direct sunlight, but is still handy, showing the date, time, caller info, and, when the phone is closed, it shows you what the camera is seeing for self portraits of you and your friends.

As a quad band phone, the V635 is truly global, and no matter where you are in the world, you can be sure that the V635 will conform to meet your taste and style. With alternate covers, screensavers, and wallpapers both embedded and downloadable, you can personalize this mobile in any way you want.

But the customizability doesn’t end there. Supporting polyphonic, MIDI, and MP3 ringtones means that you can have any song you want playing every time someone calls. And an added bonus comes with the addition of mini TransFlashÔ memory cards. If you want, you can store extra MP3s on the card, and your V635 will act as an MP3 player.

With the addition of some serious video capability, enough external memory to turn this device into an MP3 player, and a 1.3 Megapixel camera, this phone is perfect for sending data files to all your friends. With the standard MMS, SMS, and E-mail for texting, and EMS for sending pics and other fun stuff, the V635 is fully connected. And it’s also BluetoothÔ enabled, meaning that you can connect wirelessly to all your other cool devices and accessories.
