Motorola V525 Review

Motorola V80

Almost identical in every way to the V500, the Motorola V525 lies in functionality somewhere between the V300 and the V600, and is similar in many ways to both. Although the V300 is arguably more stylish, and the V600 has a couple more features, after reading this review you may find that the V525 is the right mobile for you.

The V525 adds Bluetoothä connectivity to the features offered by the sleek blue V300, but does not feature video platback or recording, as the V600 does. Again, almost all the features here are exactly the same as the V500.

The V525 has a low Megapixel digital camera with a flash and a 4 X digital (as opposed to optical) zoom. The photos it takes are clear, and represent a vast improvement over some older digital camera/phone hybrids.

With 65,000 colors and the all-important TFT technology—TFT allows the display screen to stay vibrant even in direct sunlight—you can view your pics easily on the 176 X 220 pixel internal display. The external display on this phone just has the basics, time, date, incoming calls, etc.

Although this phone allows you to play MP3 as well as polyphonic ringtones, it does not house an MP3 player, as many recent models do. For many people, an integrated MP3 player is becoming as important as a digital camera was a couple of years ago, and the big phone companies are changing in order to meet this demand.

The V525 is not current enough to be expected to house an MP3 player, however. That’s why it doesn’t. Being able to play MP3’s as your ringtones is a nice touch though, and should be a strong selling point here.

Although this phone does not have everything, it probably has enough for the majority of phone shoppers out there. Make a list of the features that you can’t live without, and see if the V525 matches that list. With good reception and volume level, this phone matches almost all other on the market, so it really comes down to the features on this one.
